Each Gibson guitar gets 14 layers of paint and lacquer. The blue on the guitar toward the right is called "Beale Street Blue" and can only be produced at the Memphis factory. If any other types of guitars that are made in other Gibson factories need to be painted this color, they are shipped to Memphis.
